Enrollment Guide for International Students of
Chengdu University of Technology
Graduate Program for 2024
1.Academic Calendar
The academic calendar is divided into fall and spring semesters of approximately 18 weeks each. Fall Semester 2024 starts from early September to mid-January of the following year, and Spring Semester 2025 starts from the end of February to mid-July. CDUT accepts international postgraduate applications including Master’s degree and doctorate degree for Fall Semester admissions (Sep.-Jan.) only.
2. Program Introduction
CDUT provides a 3-year master’s degree and a 4-year PhD’s degree program taught in English-Chinese or Chinese. To get a Postgraduate Degree, a full course of study each Fall and Spring Semester in 3 years or 4 years correspondingly must be successfully completed, including a dissertation, a research project or an internship if required.

5. Application Process
1. Online Application System: https://cdut.at0086.cn/student
2. Select “Registration → Start Application → Select an Enrollment Category → Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree”
6. Application Supporting Documents
Applicants need to submit all the following documents when applying online:
1. Copy of the first page in the passport, and the valid visa page (if the applicant is in China)
2. Academic certificate of the highest degree: Applicants applying for master degree should provide a bachelor’s degree certificate; applicants applying for Ph.D degree should provide a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree certificate (if the applicant obtained the academic certificates outside China, the local notarization and certification by the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country need to be carried out)
3. Transcripts of the highest academic degree (if the applicant obtained the academic certificates outside China, the local notarization and certification of transcripts by the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country need to be carried out)
4. Non-criminal record certificate
5. Academic recommendation letter
6. Chinese or English proficiency certificate
7. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (if the applicant is not in China)
8.Curriculum Vitae
9. Study Plan for Master’s /Ph.D Degree
10. Proof of financial support
11. Other supporting materials (competition awards, publication of articles, proof of extracurricular activities, etc.)
Note:
1. All the submitted documents issued outside China must be authenticated by local Chinese embassy or consulate. All supporting materials must be provided either in Chinese or in English. If any of these documents are not written in English, a translation in Chinese must be offered by a certified translation company prior to the authentication (personal translation not accepted).
2. Applicants may be requested to provide supplementary documents or interview by telephone/video to support their applications.
7. Scholarships and Duration
Graduate students with excellent grades and performance are encouraged to apply for the following scholarships:
1. University Scholarships
a. Master’s Degree: including registration, tuition, accommodation, insurance in China (the above fees are all paid by the university on behalf of the students), and living allowance (RMB 1000.00/month for 10 months yearly for 3 years of study).
b. PhD’s Degree: including registration, tuition, accommodation, insurance in China (the above fees are all paid by the university on behalf of the students), and living allowance (RMB 1500.00/month for 10 months yearly for 4 years of study).
2. Sichuan and Chengdu Government Scholarships
a. Sichuan Provincial Scholarship
b. Chengdu “Sister Cities” Scholarship
c. Chengdu “the Belt and Road” Scholarship
3. Project Subsidies
A project subsidy may be considered if postgraduate students are participating in a sponsored research project. Receipt of a continuation grant is usually based on availability of funds and project performance.
